indoor cameras

Some notes on installation: 1 My mounting plate was slightly different than the one shown here as it had three slots for mounting screws as opposed to the two shown here. I used three screws to mount the plate. 2 I found routing the two existing doorbell wires to the connecting screws a little tricky. There seemed to be a couple ridges in the way of getting the wires into position to align with the two small slots in the rubber plug that environmentally seals off the electrical connections. It took some patience to get things aligned for a good seal. 3 I mounted the plate snugly to my wooden door frame and then followed all the instructions to let the camera update firmware, register it to my system and then snap it into place on the mounting plate. Everything worked perfectly including test ringing the doorbell. About an hour later, I noticed an alert on my ADT website dashboard that my camera battery was low, and the camera had stopped functioning. The doorbell ring function still worked. I recalled reading in the instructions that cautioned you should not over torque the mounting plate screws and I suspected I had done that. I removed the camera from the mounting plate a little scary–the two retaining clips on the right side are two step releases and they’re plastic and charged the camera using the micro USB port and my Nook charger.

home security free installation

Then there’s the monitoring service – they offer $27. 99/mo but that’s only if you have a land phone line in your home. Including the warranty on the equipment that is supposed to be $36. 99, but again they claim it’s only if you have a land line. I know others who have the service without a land line paying $36. 99 no problem, yet ADT claims they don’t do that. Total garbage and lies. So now the monthly monitoring fee is up to $48. 99 for wireless. However if you speak with their customer service, they will bring that down to $44. 99/month and offer $300 in gift cards to make up the difference between the $48.
